Obsidian Star Goes Green…er
Well as you may or may not know, the environment is a concern of mine (I switched to cloth pads for that reason)…. and I’ve made the switch to unbleached 100% recycled paper postage envelopes and paper and some biodegradable stickytape (Still looking for packing tape so I can completely switch).
So from now on all the instructions sheets (after I use up the few I’d already printed on normal paper), will be on unbleached recycled paper, and sent in unbleached recycled paper envelopes. I still have many of the non recycled envelopes left, so some orders will be sent in those until I’ve used them up.
It was nice opening the box of them… all the different packs of envelopes were tied with string
The usual ziplock bag to keep your goodies safe from weather and dirt will still be there, and that’s not recyclable.. but it is reusable. Once I find a cellulose packing tape, I can stop using the plastic too which means you can compost the envelopes with the tape attached – otherwise, just take the tape off.
I tried to find recycled tissue paper – but I was only able to find toilet paper
So I think my usual purple paper will stay!
So its only a small step, but I feel better that not only do I recycle at home, I’m now buying recycled products to lessen my impact even more.
I even use “enviro pens” – they are a normal biro but instrad of the plastic outer shell, they are paper wrapped around to make a thick tube. I was only able to find reference to them here http://www.globalcatalogue.com/detailpens.aspx?ProductID=P185&status=STOCK&PenStyle=Plastic. I found them in my local post office, so I bought several packs of them.
